It will be alright
My name is Nora Fridrichová and I‘m a journalist. I became interested in the topic of self-support years ago while filming reports for television. Although single-parent families are among the groups permanently at risk of poverty, the media only reports on them sporadically. Not even politicians are interested, and often tell these families to “find a new sponsor.“ In 2019, I organized the first collection of clothes at my place of work, and in a few days a ton was collected! When the pandemic came, I successively started two public fundraisers – one to help single-parent families who needed food and another for children who needed laptops for distance learning. In 2021, we opened Šatník, which means “the Wardrobe” in the center of Prague. Welcome to our website. We are a group of friends who serve as volunteers at Šatník, without any remuneration. For us, this is the assurance that every parent and their children will leave our organization us nicely dressed. Werich’s saying that “clothes make the man” still applies. Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, we also welcome mothers with children who are escaping the war. Hundreds arrive every day. We are pleased that we can help at least in this way, and that our Šatník, as Forbes magazine recently wrote, has become one of the largest mediators of direct humanitarian aid in the Czech Republic. We want to thank our donors very much for supporting us with their donations and making this a joint effort. We believe in recycling and a circular economy. Every donated piece of clothing and every mug finds a new owner with us and gets a second chance. Thank you so much, you are great!

It will be alright
We see deep meaning in helping single-parent families, and not only because there are many single parents around us. We know that by joining forces we can relieve many sad people from a difficult fate, and turn it into a good story. We consider parents as important. You are not alone in your troubles!
